Rules & Methodology
Transparent by design.

Every aspect of the judging process is published before nominations open. No hidden criteria. No undisclosed relationships. No exceptions.

How Scores Are Calculated

Each nominee receives a final score out of 100. The score is composed of three independent inputs:

40%
Trader Vote

Verified reader votes on FXTopBrokers.com. One vote per verified account. No manufactured or incentivised voting permitted.

40%
Panel Score

Independent judges score each nominee against published category criteria. Judges are anonymous to nominees during evaluation.

20%
Data Score

Objective data points verified by FXTopBrokers editorial team: spread data, regulatory status, platform ratings, support metrics.

In the event of a score tie, the nominee with the higher trader vote percentage is ranked higher. All scores are reviewed by the Chief Judge before finalisation. The Chief Judge has discretion to adjust scores if evidence of voting manipulation is detected.

The Judging Panel

The panel consists of five independent judges. All judges must declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from categories where a conflict exists. Judge identities are published on announcement day.

CJ
Chief Judge
Institutional FX veteran, 20+ years. Former prime brokerage desk. Chairs the panel and has casting vote on ties.
TJ
Technology Judge
Senior fintech analyst. Specialist in trading platform architecture and execution technology.
RJ
Regulatory Judge
Former regulatory compliance officer. FCA, ASIC, and CySEC frameworks specialist.
IJ
Industry Judge
Retail trading advocate. Active trader and educator with documented track record. Represents the trader perspective.

Full judge profiles are published at the opening of nominations. All judges sign a code of conduct and conflict of interest declaration. Judges are not permitted to be employed by, contracted to, or hold equity in any nominated company.

Eligibility Rules

Nominees must be operating legally and hold at least one valid regulatory licence from a recognised financial authority (ASIC, FCA, CySEC, BaFin, MAS, DFSA, FSA, FSCA, or equivalent Tier 1/2 regulator).

Nominees must have been in continuous operation for a minimum of 24 months as of the nomination deadline (April 30, 2026).

Companies under active regulatory investigation, enforcement action, or licence suspension at the time of nomination are not eligible.

A single company may nominate across multiple categories but must pay the applicable fee for each submission bundle. Each submission must contain category-specific supporting documentation.

Subsidiaries and parent companies are treated as separate legal entities. A parent company nomination does not cover its subsidiaries, and vice versa.

Nominees must consent to independent verification of claims made in their submission. Unverifiable or demonstrably false claims will result in disqualification.

FXTopBrokers staff, editorial team members, and their immediate family members may not be employed by or hold equity interests in nominated companies. FXTopBrokers reserves the right to recuse itself from judging if a conflict of interest is identified.

Submission Requirements

Each nomination must include the following for every category entered:

Company Overview (max 500 words)

A factual description of the company, including founding date, regulatory status, primary markets served, and client base.

Category Submission Statement (max 800 words)

A structured case for why the nominee merits recognition in the specific category, directly addressing the published judging criteria.

Supporting Evidence

Quantitative data, third-party reports, regulatory filings, audit documents, platform screenshots, or other verifiable evidence supporting claims.

Regulatory Documentation

Current regulatory licence certificate(s) and a declaration of any active investigations or enforcement actions.
