Our Review
Methodology

Every score on FXTopBrokers is the result of a structured testing process. Here's exactly how it works — including the criteria we score, how we weight them, and what disqualifies a broker from our coverage.

Overview
The 4-Week Testing Process

Before any broker receives a score or appears on our site, a member of our editorial team must complete a minimum 4-week live account test. No exceptions. Here's what that looks like:

W1
Account Opening & Onboarding

We register as a new client, complete KYC verification, and make our initial deposit. We time every step, note friction points, test deposit methods, and document any issues.

W2
Live Trading & Platform Testing

We execute live trades across London, New York, and Asian sessions. We measure execution speed, slippage, requote rates, spread widening during news events, and platform reliability.

W3
Support, Tools & Education Testing

We contact support multiple times as a new client with real questions — via live chat, email, and phone. We assess response time, accuracy, and professionalism. We also evaluate education content, research tools, and platform depth.

W4
Withdrawal Testing & Final Score

We request a full withdrawal and document the process: time to receive funds, fees charged, any verification requirements, and communication quality. Withdrawal experience directly affects the broker's final score.

Scoring
The 12 Scoring Criteria

Each broker is scored independently across 12 criteria on a 1–10 scale. No criterion is combined before individual scoring to avoid anchoring bias. The final score is a weighted average.

⚠ Automatic Disqualifiers

The following will result in a broker being removed from our site regardless of other scores: withdrawal requests denied without regulatory basis · regulatory licence revoked or under active investigation · unresolved client fund disputes · evidence of spread manipulation · misleading advertising we can verify as false. We have removed brokers for all of these reasons.
